it's been a long time since the last time...
i hung out with this girl from korea today... haha... hey becky!
it's always good seeing old friends again... not that she's old, but mike said that she is "old school" so i guess she is... haha...
this break is going by rather fast. fast not because i'm having a ton of fun... but i sleep thru about half of it...
i've been waking up at like 10:30 everyday. i feel so lazy. but this is the break. well, for me this "break" may last a long time though if i don't get up and get going.... get going to find me a job. i guess it's not something i can do on my own. i need to trust Him more. that word, "trust" has taken a totally different meaning as of late. it's easy to trust someone or something when you know that you have the power to make a diffrence if your trust breaks... but the true meaning of trusting someone means to put ALL hope in that one person or a thing. i'm taking about GOD, of course. and it make sense to trust God in many things because He is God. but learning to really trust Him with all of what i am means totally radical.
we are so sinful. no, i'm so sinful. i've experinced God's power in many occassions. however, i'd rather put this "trust" in something other than God. but again, i'm reminded of the statement that describes our faith, which is sorta like trust.
it is not the amount of faith (trust) you have, but the object of that faith (trust).
i've heard this in so many different ways, but it always slip my mind.
i remember a story about a young man who went to school every morning. he lived on one side of a deep and wide lake, and the school was directly on the other side of that lake. one cold winter morning, he woke up late and knew that he would be in deep trouble if he is late to school again. he knew also that he would be late to school for certain if he took his usual route, around the lake.
now, ihe may have a great faith that the frozen lake is thick enough to hold him up as he walks across the frozen lake.
on the other hand, his faith may be very little that the ice is thick enough to hold him up.
however, the amount of the young man's faith is not the factor that determins whether he will make it to school in time. it is the actual thickness of the ice that will determine if he will make it to school or if his life is taken away.
so what's the lesson here? it is not the amount of faith that gives us salvation, but it is the object of that faith, no matter big or small, that will give us the eternal life and all things that we are in need of. i have this small faith in Jesus Christ. i know where i'm going.
but, if the young man got up early, he would not have to deal with the whole mess... haha...
so, i'll try to get up earlier starting tomorrow and not be a lazy fool. it's not even cold enough for ice to form here in southern california anyways...
