this weekend flew by in an instance.
i'm trying to remember what i did, but everything is a one big blur...
oh yeah, i wanted to wish martin, a happy belated birthday. he turned twenty-something this past friday.
and also a happy belated birthday to sylvia. watch out! she's a 21 year old young lady now. better hide all your can of booze from her... haha.
awana had its annual spark's day at our old favorite chuck-e-cheese near church. i don't know what it is about chuck-e-cheese that kids like so much. i think all those weird fury creatures gives me the chills and the food isn't all that great either. i mean games are fun, but they are all out to rip you off. izzie and i were seating around the table as the kids were playing games and getting lost in the maze, and we noticed that the "performers" started singing that annoying birthday song. then we noticed several of the chuck-e-cheese employees singing (not really) and doing the motions (w/out heart). i laughed at first cuz it looked so silly, but we noticed that they had absolutely no facial expression on thier faces. man, 'i'd hate to work here' i thought to myself. that's gotta be on my never-wanna-work-here list. well, number one on my list of i-dream-of-working-here is to be a test driver for porsche in germany. now that's a dream job.
i can't believe there are only 4 more awana's left for me here at kcpc. how sad.
2 more sundays until we move to our new temporary church building. i hope this one is the last temporary place kcpc stays, cuz the one we are at now was supposedly temporary too. we've been here 3.5 years.
some of the awana teachers went by to the old church site on saturday. it brought back ALOT of memories. church bus, morning service in the pews, bible study on the red picnic tables, the gook-bap, the view, ever so fickle weather, but most of all, the place where my faith grew so much. i guess i can call it my spiritual home. this ones temporary too, though, until we go HOME.
ps. evelyn kim, i read your blog today. i can't believe that you have your own blog*spot. hey, remeber the old church where i used to be your awana teacher? i think you were in first-grade and i was a freshmen in college, although i'm sure you thought i was hecka old. we used to memorize john 3:16 together. you made me laugh back then, and you still make me laugh now. keep blogging evelyn!
