i think i'm becoming more artsy-fartsy as the days go by. i'm taking some night courses at a junior college nearby, and i really enjoy them! i'm taking art 96, which is an intermediate photography course, and art 20, which is a begining drawing and compositions class. i've been falling in love with black and white photography for about a year now. i love being in the darkroom and wrestling with the enlarger to create a photograph with my own hand. some say that the days of B&W photo have passed due to the emergence of the digital photography and photoshop, which we call a dry dark room. yeah yeah. sure sure. i mean although they are both photography, it's totally different. i don't think that digital photograhy will replace the "art" of B&W photography. because it is an "art". i mean i would love to own a digi-cam and be able to manipulate a picture to make my roommate look like a pretty girl and put in on the hotornot website and see the rating go thru the roof... ahah.
yeah but anyways, my point is that art is an art and it will stay that way. cuz i don't think that end justifies the mean.
art 20 is very interesting because unlike the photography class where i posses a whole year of experince under my lens cover, i'm only a beginner. i had to even learn how to hold my pencil in a correct position, and i've never been used to drawing on a canvas so big. but it's liberating to think that for a moment i have control over what is going to be on this piece of parchment (well, control within the limits of my artistic genes). i also like getting my hands dirty with charcoal and pastel... hehe. i get it all over my shirt and it's still art... haha. i know by this point, all you true artsy-fartsy people are mad cuz i'm degrading art to a child's play thing... haha. forgive me.
anyways. so i guess i'm not really artsy-fartsy or whatever you wanna call it. i'm just a wanna-be. yeah! that's what i am... haha. but i like using the right side of my brain. well, yeah i heard that's where all this good stuff is coming from. ok. my head hurts. time for me to use the left side. getta get back to work. using brain sucks.
