go kings!
this has been a season marked by undedicated players trying to bring the team down... however, they (whoever that may be) didn't succed. although we suffered a dissapointing loss in the first round playoff, no one expected us to be here. we battled a team with very consistent hitting with only 8 members with our star outfileder, ken, with only one ankle. i don't remember the score, i probably just blocked it off, but we played well. we tried to get a rally going in the middle of the 3rd inning... i belted off a big homerun hit.. but that was about it.
this season has been interesting. after most of the DOC members leaving the area, i was kinda lost as to which team to play for. i decided to join the kings because it was a team made up of people from everywhere... some of these people, i would have not had the chance to meet if it weren't softball.
we were in the league with the other two teams from kcpc, the senior+sophomore team and the juinor team. nobody (except kristy, our one and only fan) really came out to watch us, we played for the love of the game, and that's how i like it.
we beat the top two teams in the league and the few losses were only by a couple of runs... there were some highlights but also many plays that belong in the hall of sham...
all and all, it has been good just to be out under the light, trying to make ourself better than what we were "supposed" to be... that's life.
so, i just wanted to give alittle shout out to the kings. i know that we will not exist again next semester, we are like the twins or the expos, but i've really enjoyed it while it lasted.
go kings!
